About the USF Department of OB/GYN:

The department has ACGME-approved fellowships in Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Its Research Division in Reproductive Science, and Gynecologic Oncology has well established and funded lines of basic/translational research. We serve a diverse community of patients from the Tampa Bay Region and beyond. Tampa General Hospital is the primary teaching hospital of the USF Morsani College of Medicine. Tampa General Hospital is an Obstetrical Center of Excellence and delivers 7200 patients per year and rising. USF CNMs , Specialists in General OB/GYN Maternal Fetal Medicine, Obstetrical anesthesia, and a Level 3 NICU participate in our collaborative practice.

Responsibilities

  • • Provide general Obstetrics and Gynecology care, including ambulatory care, deliveries, surgery and complete maternal care. Co-manage patient care with MFM faculty.
  • • Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.

Qualifications

  • • Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • • For Associate or Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
  • • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Must have completed Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology with an interest in teaching and patient care. Must have or be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
  • • Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to excellent record of clinical care with several years of teaching/supervising experience and demonstrated leadership skills. We will also consider new OBGYN graduates with academic career interests. Great communications skills and ability to work in a teambased environment required.
