• Physician will join a team of 5 OB/GYN Physicians, 7 Certified Nurse Midwives and 1 Nurse Practitioner
• Two clinic locations with one located on the hospital campus
• Call ratio 1:5 with goal of obtaining 1:7
• Strong work-life balance with ability to take call from home
• 24-hour weekday call and 72 hour weekend call
• 4 day/week clinic when not on weekend call
• Nurse Triage service is first line for all patient calls outside business ours and covers routine • Obstetrical and gynecological questions.
• Experienced, trustworthy labor and delivery staff with low turnover
• Newly expanded and state of the art labor, deliver, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) suites- 24 bed
• 2 Full-time Neonatologists with Level 2 NICU
• 24/7 access to highly collegial MFM consult with simple direct phone call.
• Average 1000 deliveries as a practice
• UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital has been designated a Minimally Invasive Gynecology Center of Excellence by AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists) and Surgical Review Corporation
• Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities
- • Clinic schedule is Monday – Thursday with every Friday off unless you are on call for the weekend (Friday-Sunday)
- • Average 18-26 clinic patients per day
- • In office ultrasound offered at both clinic locations and read by the General Radiology department
- • Surgical block time offered at Allen Hospital Main OR and local Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- • Two Da Vinci Xi Robotic surgical systems available at Allen Hospital
- • Physician average of 55% OB care and 45% GYN care
- • Physicians provide supervision to our collegial midwife group that manages their own low-risk practice
Qualifications
- • MD or DO
- • Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible
- • Hold or obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- • Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
