Responsibilities

  • Full Scope OB-GYN Practice
  • • High risk OB and complex GYN cases
  • • Certified Nurse Mid-Wives- 19 on staff do most deliveries, with consult from OB-GYN.
  • • Call Schedule
  • • On average work 2 L&D Shifts a week
  • • 3 clinic days 0r a combination of Clinic, Consult and Surgery shifts.
  • Labor & Delivery
  • • 150 bed hospital
  • • 16 Mother baby unit
  • • 8 Delivery rooms
  • • 2 C-section Room
  • Rural Medicine
  • • Consult in rural villages a couple times a year.
  • • NP/PA in larger villages
  • • Health Aides in rest of villages
  • • A person for the village that has been trained and works off a triage book.
  • • Tertiary Care Center- OB-GYN s make decisions about transporting patients out of rural AK.
