This includes review of medical records, obtaining family and pregnancy histories, providing education and risk assessment, explanation of screening and diagnostic tools, review of genetic literature, coordination of additional testing and referrals, interpretation of results, and communication of results to the patient and the referring clinician. The genetic counselors serve as a resource to the multidisciplinary team and participate in perinatal conferences, program committees, and educational activities for physicians and staff. We perform more than 700 deliveries per year, all at Huntington Hospital which is next door to our office. Our now 10,000 square-foot office (4 waiting rooms, 22 exam rooms, 3 ultrasound rooms, and a private lab) recently added 3,000 square feet across the hall. We are the premier Ob/Gyn group in Pasadena. We accept only private insurance (mainly PPO), no Medicaid or HMO. We have 3 full-time RDMS ultrasound technologists, an in-house lab, and we have the Mona Lisa Touch vaginal laser. There is a popular bio-identical hormone program on-site (Pasadena Pellet Therapy) and a high-end boutique Medi-Spa also (Marina's Oasis). We have been using an EHR since 2008 and are known as a high-tech medical practice, since 2020 we use Athena as our EHR.
